Easter 2026
Dear Neighbors,
On the third day after the crucifixion of Jesus, two women named Mary came to His tomb. When they got there an angel told them that Jesus had risen as He said. The angel also told them to go quickly to tell the disciples, and the women ran to deliver the wonderful news (Matthew 28:1-8).
When we think about this story, it is obvious why they ran—they were excited. And when we consider what things fill us with excitement, we can see that they are things that we love. So it must have been the love the women had for Lord that got them so excited that they ran to tell the news of His resurrection to the disciples. If we were to learn that someone we loved, who we thought had died, was actually alive, wouldn't we run to tell the people who loved him too?
Reading about the Lord in the Gospels can help us develop a love for Him, like the two Marys. When we read the Gospels, we find that much of them is His very own words while He walked the earth. Reading His story can help us see His mercy, His compassion, His strength, His courage, and most of all His love for the human race. And reading specifically about His resurrection can fill us with the same excitement those women had on Easter morning too.
If you would like to learn more about the excitement that comes from loving the Lord Jesus Christ and acknowledging that He has risen, you are welcome to join us for worship on Easter Sunday, April 5 at 10:00 a.m., or any other Sunday of the year. Please also feel free to give me a call (610-756-6140).
Happy Easter!
Sincerely,
Rev. Brett D. Buick
