“In Jesus Christ dwells all the fullness of the Divine bodily.” - Colossians 2:6, 9
Kempton New Church

Day 22: March 17

Readings:

And then if anyone shall say to you, Behold, here is Christ! or, Behold, there! believe not; for false christs and false prophets shall arise, and shall show signs and miracles, to seduce, if possible, even the chosen. And look; behold, I have foretold you all things. But in those days, after that affliction, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars of heaven shall be falling, and the powers that are in the heavens shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with much power and glory. And then He shall send His angels, and shall gather together His chosen from the four winds, from the end of the earth up to the end of heaven. (Mark 13:21-27)

“The sun shall be darkened,” signifies that there is no longer any love and charity; “the moon shall not give her light,” signifies that there is no longer any intelligence and faith. (Apocalypse Revealed 27)

“Behold He cometh with the clouds of heaven,” signifies that the Lord will reveal Himself in the literal sense of the Word, and will open its spiritual sense in the end of the church. (Apocalypse Revealed 24)

Reflection:

All churches are made up of people, and so are subject to corruptions. The warning of false christs and prophets, and darkness, are when charity and faith are lost due to people misusing the truth to support their own agendas. The Lord’s Second Coming is the revelation of the internal sense of the Word. When you read the Word the darkness or the glory more prevalent for you? Do you feel the Lord’s presence when reading in the Word?
