Day 20: March 15

Readings:

But look out for yourselves; for they shall deliver you up to councils and to synagogues; you shall be beaten, and shall be brought before governors and kings for My sake, for a testimony against them. And the gospel must first be preached among all nations. But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, be not anxious beforehand what you shall speak, neither do ye premeditate; but whatever shall be given you in that same hour, that speak ye; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. And a brother shall deliver up a brother to death, and a father a child; and children shall rise up against parents, and shall put them to death. And you shall be hated by all on account of My name; but he who shall endure to the end, this one shall be saved. Mark 13:9-13 The evil in the world of spirits [evil people who have recently died] continually desire to kill; but because there they cannot do this as to the body, they continually desire to do it as to the soul; and since they are not able to do this, they burn with such hatred against them, that nothing delights them more than to do evil to them. (Apocalypse Revealed 325:4)

Reflection:

Evil spirits cannot directly harm our bodies or our souls but they can indirectly harm our souls. Betrayal by family members means that we are betrayed by our own evil tendencies. Parts of our own nature are at odds and even hate the things from the Lord that we learn and try to follow. It can be hard to let go of our old ideas of what will make us happy, but can we trust the Lord and endure?
