The Laws of the Divine Providence
Led by the Word, as if by himself

Divine Providence

It is a law of the Divine Providence that man should be led and taught by the Lord from heaven by means of the Word and by doctrine and preaching from the Word, and this to all appearance as if by himself.

Outline of the chapter in Divine Providence

  1. Man is led and taught by the Lord alone.
  2. Man is led and taught by the Lord alone through the angelic heaven and from it.
  3. Man is led by the Lord by means of influx, and taught by means of enlightenment.
  4. Man is taught by the Lord by means of the Word, and by doctrine and preaching from the Word, thus immediately by Himself alone.
  5. Man is led and taught by the Lord in externals to all appearance as of himself.
